Location
This photo was taken at Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon.Time
I think it was mid afternoon, and it was extremely foggy and sprinkling.Lighting
It was pretty overcast so the lighting was fairly universal.Equipment
I used the Canon EOS Rebel T3i, with your standard 18-55mm lens, no tripod or flash.Inspiration
I love fog, it makes things mysterious and beautiful. Yaquina Bay Bridge is already beautiful by itself. It was a picture I couldn't pass up.Editing
I usually just do a tiny bit of adjusting the brightness as well as highlights and shadows. I obviously made it black and white as well, and thats it.In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon EOS Rebel T3i, a tripod, extra batteries and memory cards, a cleaning kit, wireless remote, intervalometer, and the three lenses I own, a 50mm, 18-55mm, and a 55-250mm.Feedback
This was a pretty simple shot to get, but in general just know your equipment and how to use it. I have had my camera for almost 3 years and I am still learning about it and the things it can do. Take your camera with you everywhere. You never know when a good opportunity for a photo will arise. And I tripod is definitely always helpful. Lastly, just walk around a bit. Take pictures from different spots and angles, and take pictures with different settings. A certain amount of light could make the picture look completely different. A change in position might hide ugly and unwanted extras in your view or just produce a more visually striking image.
