Inspiration
I love any sunrise on my North East coast whatever the weather and been someone who needs to get up for a early start really suits my free time to get this type of shot and its fantastic for me to have this coast line only five miles away with so many coves, great beaches and photo opportunities on the doorstep.
Editing
I shoot in raw and use lightroom to bring my shadows up as i always underexpose my shots its been a year since this shot and there is a lot more i have learned in post-processing but this photo is a mark in time and really a mark in time of my photography, it so nice to look back on this.
In my camera bag
I always have my D4 with my F2.8 70-200 Nikon lens as in the main I always used to shoot Ice Hockey which really got me into photography but as time goes on landscapes are now my love I now have in my bag D810 with my F2.8 24-70 Nikon lens a nifty 50 and a ND filters and really that's the way I roll
Feedback
Ah me giving advice really ha, Well I'm never really happy with what i come away with from a location but that makes me more determined to get back there and use a different frame of mind, setup, view, time of day and to be out there just taking the shots is what its all about. I do all the google maps the tide times the moon and so on to get it right which is so helpful to me and there is massive amount of tutorials of great photographers giving fantastic advice on locations camera setups taking the shot post-pro its all out there.
So all i can say is always have your camera with you no matter what the weather is out there go on a mission to get that elusive shot that i'm always trying to find. Enjoy seeing a brand new day open up in front of your eyes and all the colours and feelings it brings there is for me no better time and if you can capture that moment for others to see and enjoy it, it speaks a thousand words.
