Thank you very much for the likes and the award! Wasn't expecting an award in my first few days on here so am really pleased. Very glad you liked the image - it's one of my favourites.

Location
I was at the Devon County Show, standing about three rows back from the birds of prey display and trying to take whatever shots I could over people's shoulders. I'm quite petite, so it was a little tricky. However, when I changed to burst setting, the people around me must have thought I was a press photographer, as everyone in front of me turned to look and the crowd just parted, giving me a clear shot of this stunning eagle owl. I took full advantage of the moment and this is the result.Time
I can't remember precisely what time of day this was, as the shot was taken some years ago, but it was likely to have been late morning or early afternoon.Lighting
This shot was taken in natural daylight on a relatively bright day.Equipment
This was shot on an Olympus E-300, aperture f/5.6, shutter speed 1/320.Inspiration
I am primarily a nature photographer and have always had a deep fascination with birds of prey. The County Show is a superb opportunity to get close to birds and animals to take detail shots and I always make the most of it.Editing
As I recall, I did very little post-processing on this shot as I was so happy with how it came out of the camera. Take advantage of any opportunityIn my camera bag
I have recently reverted to a Sony Cyber-shot as I no longer have the Olympus - the Sony actually takes great shots and has the advantage of being microscopic compared to the house-brick that was the E-300. The Sony fits in any size bag, whereas the E-300 needed a suitcase of its own!Feedback
