I took this photo at a maternity shoot a couple of years ago. It was inspired by something that the subject had seen and wanted to try. She was so great to work with. A natural for posing!Time
It was in the afternoon which is often difficult to work with but this time it worked perfectly!Lighting
It took a few tries of changing settings to get the right silhouette I had to have the room fairly dark.Equipment
I used my Canon 5D mark II with a Canon 1.8 85mm lens. Nothing else.Inspiration
I love the human form. Especially pregnant women. It is such a beautiful thing to be able to carry a small human in the body. This particular woman has what I see as a perfect body for this type of photo and was able to hold the pose so well.Editing
I did do some post processing in Lightroom but I don't recall all the work I did on it as it was a few years ago. I thought black and white worked best to show the silhouette and the simplicity of each curve of the body.In my camera bag
I normally have my 12-24, my 85mm, my 50mm, my 2 flashes and my wireless triggers. OF course my camera would be in there too! :)Feedback
Bright light through a window works great, mixed with sheer curtains. The bigger the window, the more you can capture of the body.
