Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken under the bridge on Route 94 near Del Rio, Texas.Time
Early evening.Lighting
The shot occurred during the "magic hour", about 1 hour or so before sunset, when the ambient light is very good for photography.Equipment
Nikon D750 camera, Nikon 24-120mm f/4 lens, handheld, no flash.Inspiration
I love to shoot bridges, and this bridge was no exception. I chose to shoot the bridge with the water and columns as the subject.Editing
Basic post-processing with some tone balancing. I also inverted the image with the water above to create an abstract view of the columns. In my camera bag
2 cameras (D750, Olympus EM1), lenses: Nikon 24-120mm f/4, 20mm f/1.8, Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8, ND filters & Circular Polarizing Filters, extra batteries & SD cards, microfiber cloths, lens brush and air blower.Feedback
Turn the image around and try different views instead of the same old thing. Sometimes a different aspect ratio, angle or perspective can transform an image into something unique. Since the images are digital, one has unlimited possibilities to try just about anything when forming an image. In the words of Ansel Adams, "You don't take a photograph, you make it.".
