Behind The Lens

Location

I was working in Bangkok at the time. I make it a habit to always camera my camera and this shot just opened up before my eyes. "Happy Accident"

Time

It was late afternoon during the golden hour.

Lighting

On the street of Silom Bangkok, with the BTS overhead rail system the street is bathed in light and shadows. On the streets i tend to set ISO to auto 200-3200, F sop above 5.6 to adjust for the changing conditions.

Equipment

I shoot with the Fujifilm X-T1 camera and the X100T. For this shot I was carrying my X-T1 with 18-135mm.

Inspiration

I felt this shot depicted life in its rawest form. I believe there is beauty even in the rashest of things.

Editing

I am new to photography so post processing consisted of converting the color picture to monochrome using only iPhoto.

In my camera bag

It varies greatly on whether I am shooting in the city or the wilds. For the street I try to pack light. X-T1 with the 18-135mm and if I anticipate being out after sunset I carry the 35mm F1.4

Feedback

The best moments in life present themselves to without warning. Check the setting on you equipment to ensure they they will be able to capture that moment. Take you time when in places with large groups of people, remembering to look all around you (even behind you) you'll never know what direction the shot will appear.
