Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa, CA. This is a man-made lake in Sonoma County where thousands of ducks and geese live happily.

Time

This was around 11:00 a..m.

Lighting

Just natural lighting.

Equipment

Sony Nex-6 with a 55-200 mm lens, handheld.

Inspiration

I go down to this lake every few days during the winter and early spring months to try to capture any unusual action in the bird world! The ducks are very familiar with human beings walking around, and they sit, unperturbed, within a few feet of me.

Editing

I only use a few sliders in "photos" on my Apple computer.

In my camera bag

I carry a Sony a6000, a Sony Nex-6 with a 14-55mm 50-200mm, 14mm and fish eye lenses...along with cleaning materials and a tripod/bean bag.

Feedback

For an image like this, it's much easier if you're interacting with the ducks and geese who are very familiar with humans and not nervous. They sit calmly.
