Late afternoon.Lighting
All existing except the light coming down from the skylight which was added in post.Equipment
For this photo I had been out riding my bicycle and only had a Canon S100 point and shoot type of camera with me. I rested it on the back of the pew in front of me and shot a 3 frame bracket (1 under, 1 on and 1 over). I composited them together in Lightroom. I did the best I could with the highlights and shadows, but with a small sensor there was some noise in the shadows and that did not bother me.Inspiration
I was sitting in the mostly empty and quiet church when a couple came in and walked down to the alter. Then the woman walked to the right out of the frame and as she did that I saw this composition forming. It was a spiritual moment that I was seeing, although I have no idea what the man was thinking while he was standing there looking at the alter. But my experience was spiritual.Editing
Yes, Adobe Lightroom and NIK filters. In my camera bag
I shoot professionally with Nikon gear.Feedback
I can only say so much of it is being in the right place at the right time and being able to recognize something nice to look at. The camera doesn't matter so much. When an image grabs the viewers attention the rest doesn't matter so much. If a photo makes you stop and look a bit longer than other photos, then it just has something that appealing or interesting and best of all it elicits an emotional response from the viewer. Then you have done something of value.
