Show stopping quality work. The compositon is Fab. Love the contrasting fair skin with the blood red flowing gown, and lipstick. Of course the spiral stairs was top choice! This must have been hours worth of work. Very eloquent! : )

Location
This image was taken my family ranch in Lexington, Mississippi which was destroyed in 2010 when a tornado hit. The staircase was actually in my house before that. I had it installed by a pond behind where my house used to be.Time
Around 2-3 in the afternoonLighting
This was shot in natural light with two large reflectors to the subject.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark II with EF 24-105LInspiration
It would be the staircase. Visiting the site where the tornado hit I was always drawn to that staircase. The sheer power the tornado had to snatch it from a concrete slab overwhelmed me. It landed 500 yards away from where the house stood. I knew I had to create something beautiful with it so I had it installed between my favorite oak and the pond behind my house. The dress was designed by Jennifer Chou, https://www.etsy.com/people/ASAPBay? , who can create anything you can imagine.Editing
The bulk of the post processing for this image was done to the dress. The original dress was green for another image of mine, Power. I needed to change it to red to represent the story. For me, that was not easy. I wanted the perfect shade and depth of red which took dozens of color adjustments in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark II, EF 24-105L, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM AutoFocus Telephoto Zoom Lens, two primes, 85mm and 50mm, Canon 580ex II flash, Pocket Wizards and several large reflectors are always in my bag.Feedback
This image is about the story of my loss. When you are trying to speak such emotion through a photograph, use colors and contrast as your words. Light and shadow and texture also.
