Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot in my back yard. I was really just learning and getting into photography at the time. I'd taken a few shots of water on leaves and such, and just happened to catch this out of the corner of my eye. Right time, right place, and plenty of luck.

Time

As I remember this shot was taken right after I'd dropped my daughter off at the bus for school. I was walking around my condo after a particularly heavy rain and saw the daffodils all bent over. Ran for my camera.

Lighting

Nothing of note to share with regard to lighting. At that point it was, and still is by and large, a matter of being in the right place, at the right time.

Equipment

This shot was taken with my 1st camera. A Fuji S1800. 12MP

Inspiration

I had taken a few "After rain" photos that I thought really came out well. I always have loved the look of "water droplet" pics. This is one of my best.

Editing

A little crop, the camera itself only supports JPG. I need to learn more about post-processing.

In my camera bag

I shoot with a Fuji HS50EXR. I hope to one day be able to afford an FX format camera. I LOVE pushing the limits of my cameras. Exploring how far I can push them to get great images.

Feedback

Keep an eye out after a rain. Explore your cameras available functions, macro mode, manual settings, adjusting aperture and shutter speeds to obtain different depth of field and lighting. Take the photo from multiple angles and determine what YOU like best. Learn. Always learn.
