Excellent capture! I am a sunset enthusiast, personally. Looking at the focus, I notice it's on the leaves in the lower left corner of the frame, rather than on the water/reflection. I'm guessing this was shot with AF? The way around that is to use manual focus.

I only use the manual focus and settings on my camera...the sun is so intense on the water and my PnS has no filters.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest that you don't use manual settings. I find that sunsets are particularly difficult to focus when foliage is in the foreground - especially with sunlight glinting off the water directly into the lens. Sometimes I move my focus ring and shoot extra frames on either side of what the camera thinks is focused, just to get around that problem.

Rob i really appreciate the feedback so no need to apologize! I often break-up my sunset shots with silloettes in the foreground to add contrast and drama.

Using foliage to "frame" a landscape or seascape - especially during sunset or sunrise - is a standard technique. The trick is deciding what role the foliage should play in the shot's story.
