I borrowed a friends kitchen for this session as I was shooting for a cookbook. His kitchen had the look and everything needed for my shoot.Time
This was captured indoors in the evening with artificial lighting.Lighting
All lighting was artificial as I was shooting indoors in a friends kitchen that had no windows large enough or facing the proper direction for natural lighting. Many softboxes were used at strategic points around the kitchen.Equipment
This was captured using a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8 lens and various remote flashes with softboxes.Inspiration
I was hired to do a photo session for an aphrodisiac recipe book. I needed a cover photo and several other photos for inside the book. I visited a local fresh produce store to purchase all the aphrodisiac items needed and proceeded to do the session. Part way through the session, I used a strawberry covered in chocolate on the models stomach for one of the images needed. After seeing that, I thought of placing it near the models lips and letting the chocolate drip.Editing
I normally do no do a lot of post processing. For this image, I did some basic lighting and color adjustment and then cropped to the dimensions I needed.In my camera bag
My bag almost always has everything in it. A Nikon D90 camera body, 50mm 1.4, 24-70mm 2.8, 55-300mm 4-5.6, various filters, Nikon SB700 speedlight and multiple other speedlights.Feedback
Tripod. The one piece of equipment needed most of the time for a perfectly sharp image. No matter what medium or equipment you are using, a tripod and a remote shutter release especially if you are in a controlled environment, work wonders.
