Love it! Interesting that they allowed him to live in relative luxury.

Location
This photo was taken at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia PA USA.Time
It was during the day.Lighting
The lighting was difficult because it was indoors, but it added quite a lot of drama to the photos that day. This one was done in HDR to bring out many of the shadows.Equipment
The photo was taken through a small opening in the door. Because of this, I was unable to use a tripod but was able to secure the camera, a Nikon D7000, to the door's window.Inspiration
This was Al Capone's cell. It struck me because every other cell was bare and stark. Not even a window or any hint of comfort - yet Al Capone's was the only one with any amenities. You were able to see Al Capone's power even after so many years.Editing
The post processing was done in Lightroom to bring out shadows and brighten the details a bit.In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D7000, 24-70 2.8 Tamron, 50MM 1.8 Nikor, 80-200 Nikor 2.8 and my wide angle, which I took this photo with, 11-16mm 2.8 Tokina.Feedback
I love old, abandoned places. To capture their silence and history, I believe a tripod is essential. HDR works really well with these types of photos and taking many shots to merge together really brings out the detail. Some abandoned buildings are tough to get into without risking arrest, but others, like this one, you can book an appointment to shoot at your leisure.
