There are some beautiful colours in this. It's a shame about the huuuuge date there. ;)

Location
Driving along the great ocean road, in Victoria, Australia, the 12 apostles are limestone plinths that have been carved from the coastline over many thousands of years. This is from the lookout point.Time
Taken at sunset on a winters evening, hense the mist rolling in.Lighting
The lighting for this is totally natural. It was the most incredible sunset I have ever seen.Equipment
Being on my honeymoon, and not a professional photographer, I used the only camera I had. A kodak easyshare! I've had 2 models over the years, and am not sure which one this is, but I believe it shows in the meta data. Held in hand and no flash. Pure good fortune that it turned out so well.Inspiration
The way the sunset was hitting the fog and the colours of the sky was all i needed to see to know that I wanted a photo of this. We just happened to be driving back from a day trip on our honeymoon and stopped to see the sights. No plan, just good timing!Editing
I didn't even crop this. I like to see a photo as I take it. The time stamp is just part of what my setup was in the camera at the time. I think I might have done a very basic colour correction to help the clouds stand out more, but that's it.In my camera bag
I my personal camera bag other than my nikon camera, I have spare batteries, small flexible stand, spare memory cards. In the camera I am borrowing to learn DSLR (before I buy my own -lucky I have an ace photographer friend who is lending me one of her spares), a canon EOS 40D, 2 lenses, spare memory card and charger & cord for battery. I also have a lightweight tripod in it's own carry bag that my mum bought me for Christmas last year.Feedback
Pick your dates. If you want to catch fog/mist coming in off the ocean in Australia, you need to do so in winter. Sunset is the only time you will get these lighting conditions on the Victorian coast, though sunrise can be spectaular too. Give yourself time, the 12 apostles are at least 30 mins for the nearest big town. Be prepared for the cold, you will be facing towards Antarctica, with chilled winds blowing off the sea.
