This photo is one of my favorite, because the horse has a majestic and tender expression. I took this photo in the early morning. The horse stopped at my front looking for something that was on the road. I grabbed my camera and started to take photos.Lighting
When I looked to the horse, he was with a beautiful expression, all the light was behind him reflecting into the trees and the place he stopped had some shadow with some light passing through the branches. The natural light made this photo.Equipment

As a horse lover, I'm always looking for their great moments. That day, I had very lucky to have my camera with me, and this moment happened without any warning. Horses are always moving, so we need to know that every shot is 1 shot, the next one will be much different.Editing
When I saw this image in Raw format, my first thought was, "I have to convert it to grayscale", so this was my first step. All the post-processing was made in the raw processor. I worked a little the highlights, the shadows, the contrast and finally some sharpening, to get the horse more sharp and bright.In my camera bag
I'm a amateur photographer, and i only have a very useful kit with a canon eos 1000d and two Canon lens, an 55-200mm f/ 4.5-5.6 and an 18-55mm. Simple but i can get amazing photos with this nice kit.Feedback
Photograph animals are always challenging. I think the important is to know the animal, in this case the horse, knowing how they react and how they move is crucial. In the case of this photo I had something to grab his attention on the road. If someone want to try to get some similar I think is important to find something to grab their attention to get the best expression.
