Location
This photo was taken at a local junkyard in clearwater florida.Time
I started shooting around 3:00pm. The sun started to go down around 4:30; the lighting was beautiful with clear skies. Wow, I thought to myself, this is heaven for photography.Lighting
I believe natural light is the most beautiful lighting to shoot in. My tip would be to watch the natural light and how it drapes people and things. The light was gleamimg into the bus through the windows and dancing all around the inside of the bus. It was a perfect moment to shoot.Equipment
Nikon 610 50mm 1.8D shot Jan 4 2015 At 4:48 pm Exposure 1/125 f/2.8 iso 100 no flash .Inspiration
We were doing a model photo shoot in a junkyard, the model was sitting down and the dancing light all around caught my eye. I knew it was the perfect moment to shoot.Editing
I started out in Light room, because I shoot raw only. I adjusted exposure ,highlights and shadows than I used the clarity adjustment brush all around the subject, except her face. Adjusted the saturation down a bit, highlights down a bit. At that point started in Photoshop added a couple of curve adjustment layers. I desaturated a little more than added a soft center light, some warmth, and VIOLA! Need a ride was born...In my camera bag
Nikon 610, D7000 Nikon nifty 50 1.8D Nikon 70-200 2.8 Nikon 24-85 3.5 always sb800 speed light, white umbrella and a stand, a reflector 3 in 1 ....A lot of AA batteries, couple SD cards, coke Zero and I'm ready to go shoot.Feedback
Try to shoot in the early morning sunrise, or late afternoon sunset .Watch the light and what it reflects off of. Find a good junkyard, a model, and a lttle grease . The bus was facing north with the back facing south, the sun was gleaming in the windows behind her from the west. Have a reflector at hand to fill shadows if needed.
