This image is more than 30 years old, the very beginning of the digital age. We sailed from the Persian Gulf, back to the US waters via the Mozambique Channel on board of a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) full of crude. It was for sure the shortest way but not the safest, as we had to face a severe storm.VLCC class: range between 180000 and 300000DWT
