This photo was taken on a cliff on an island in Hawaii before we went to New Years dinner! I had photos of butterflies that I composited in during post processing.Time
We were on a walk on a cliffside during sunset when I told my sister to stand at a distance from my and cup her hands like she was holding something. She was confused at first, but I told her that she just needed to trust my judgement.Lighting
The lighting is natural! I'm sure you can tell that I love the sunset from most of my photos. But I believe there is so much added to a photo by the way you light it. This one is a great example of something beautiful but a little dark still with my sister mostly silhouetted.Equipment
I simply used a Canon Rebel t3i with a 50mm lens to shoot this one!Inspiration
The beautiful scenery of Hawaii and the amazing time that we had inspired this photo!Editing
YES! I love using post processing to accomplish my artistic vision. I made the colors more intense and upped the contrast of the whole photo to make it more dramatic. I also edited the butterflies in there to give it the magical feel.In my camera bag
A tripod, my Canon Rebel t3i and a 50mm lens.Feedback
Don't be afraid if the model doesn't even understand your vision! You know what you want so just make sure they know how to pose and don't be afraid to do what you need to do to get the image. Trust your talent!!
