Scene 2:After days of rough seas the mermaid washes up on shore, disoriented and battered. Dawn breaks, revealing that she has been given human legs. At first she is elated but then realizes she doesn’t know how to walk or use her new legs. Plagued by sudden vulnerability she slowly crawls out of the sea. Eventually learning to stand, hope arises in her heart, for her journey is just beginning.
