Behind The Lens

Location

The picture was taken on the side of the road in Concon outside the yacht club. I love photographing pelicans because they have beautiful colors at the peak.

Time

Probably it must have been like 12 AM, had full sun, very bright. It was a perfect morning after staying in Concon.

Lighting

I love the portrait photography more over when you have good light, natural light helps you long after when you have to balance the digital negative. I have a rich light available, even the lens f / 8 it was occupying.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon T2i with an Rubinar 500mm f/8 lens. No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

What inspires me photographing pelicans are their colors and impressive poses when they are resting or waiting for food. Besides being a challenge for me to catch birds for their constant movement and be lucky that abound in Concon.

Editing

No, I prefer not to retouched much photographs only settings with shadows and light.

In my camera bag

Always i carry in my bag my Canon T2i with my Vivitar 24mm f/2.8, an 70-300mm and rarely the Rubinar 500mm f/8 and a Canon 50mm f/1.4 that i use in macro photographs.

Feedback

With the birds must have patience. They are very skillful and fast, so we have to spend some time sitting, watching, checking their travels, be cautious and hold your breath for a clear and bright picture.
