Beautiful shot. As a pretty seasoned photographer, may I make a constructive comment? If you crop out the dry branch on the upper right of the picture it will be greatly improved. The composition will not be affected as it would still leave enough space behind the elephants. In fact, I think it would improve the composition. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful shot. I would crop the branch as well, only because it's distracting to some, but it's obviously good as is.

Location
I was traveling with my son and his family in Zimbabwe, when we decided to spend a day at the Chobe National Park in Botswana. It was the perfect day, and after a dry summer the water holes in in the ‘veld’ was dry and this caused most of the animals to be concentrated at the river.Time
March 2014 03 04 at 03.03 PM. It was almost time for us to exit the park, but there was an elephant bull that was acting aggressively towards us while we were in the safari vehicle. He was upset because the cow and the calf in the picture has been separated from the herd, so we were forced to wait until he had receded. This gave me ample opportunity to take this extraordinary picture from the vantage point that I had in the safari vehicle.Lighting
It was a partly cloudy day which is ideal for photography. The camera was set on auto.Equipment
JUST A NIKON D3100 CAMERAInspiration
There were a lot of animals but the cow with her calf was just standing out. It was just too beautiful not to take the picture. They were a little bit separated from the rest of the herd.Editing
I made use of an editing programme (pixlr) to adjust the brightness and contrast a little bit.In my camera bag
I am an amateur photographer and because it is always with me, I take most of my photos with the camera on my phone. But on this day, because I knew there would be a lot of animals to photograph, I took the photo with my Nikon. It does not have any extras.Feedback
Chobe is a wonderful place to photograph animals and birds due to the number and variety of animal species.
