This was my very first time taking pictures of water so I was a little nervous, but excited at the same time. My daughter and I were new to the state of Oregon, so we were looking forward to our trip to the Silver Falls in Silverton, OR.Time
As you may know, OR is well known for its amount of rainy and cloudy days with few exceptions of really amazing sunny days. Well, this was one of those days. So, every time we have a sunny day in OR, my daughter and I get up super early (6:00 am) and if I am not working and she is not at school then we choose a place to go have fun and take some pics. I would say, this pic was probably taken around 8 am.Lighting
Everything about this place was so perfect. I was so amazed at the beauty of it and having so much fun that didn’t even worry or didn’t even think about lights or tripod or anything like that. This view was just stunning and perfectly perfect, if you know what I mean.Equipment
I take my D90 Cannon everywhere, this day, specially this day, was not an exception. I usually don’t take my tripod because every time I take it, I never have to use it. Weird, but true!Inspiration
My mind works in a very beautiful way. If you or anyone tells me to take a picture of something and if I look at it and my mind doesn’t put a frame on it, then I know it won’t be a good picture, so I don’t take it. For some reason and for quite a while now, it doesn’t matter where I am or if I have a camera or not, my mind puts frames into places, things, and people, when it does that, I know that thing, place or person would be a perfect picture. If I have my camera at that moment which I usually do, then I take the picture after my brain does and tadaaaa, beauty shows through the lens and the paper. I guess this started to happen the day I started to see the beauty in things. Everything without exception has a beauty, my mind captures it and my hands take action by using the camera. My biggest desire is for people to stop for a moment, look around and find the beauty on things. We truly don’t need to go to an amazing place to take amazing pics, we can just look where we are, wherever we are and see amazing things all around us. Many times when I am taking pictures, people stop usually look at me weird and ask me: “what are you taking a picture of?” I take the pic and then I show them....Then they say: “Oh my gosh, how did you see that, it is so beautiful, I would have never noticed if you wouldn’t have showed me the picture” That responds, makes me enjoy my work so much more because I know that if people can’t or don’t want to enjoy their surroundings just for a moment of their life while living life, then they can see that same beauty at a gallery or in Viewbug!Editing
When I take a picture after my brain had put a frame into things, places or people, I don’t have to edit anything at all. But, in this case, I wanted to separate people from nature a little bit, that is all. I guess that was my way of enhancing the image. Other times though, I just play with everything Photoshop and Lightroom has to offer and make changes on pictures just for the fun of it.In my camera bag
To be honest with you, I only have my D90 cannon with a 35mm lens, that is all. One day, hopefully soon, I will have tons of equipment to have fun with and enjoy what life has to offer every day, not only for me and for my camera, but for all of us.Feedback
The only advice I can give to people and the same advice I gave to my daughter when she started taking pictures was..... “Have fun and don’t let anyone tell you what is beautiful and was is not. Find your own beauty, take a picture of it, frame it and share it. If capture your true beauty, then everyone else will see it too!”
