Location
This photo was taken in my living room. I'd just gotten a new external flash and decided to test it out on my cats.Time
I took this after dinner, when everything in the house was quiet and the cats had settled down a bit.Lighting
I was playing around with different settings on my new flash, and added a diffuser on the end of it.Equipment
This was shot on an Olympus E-5 with a 12-60mm lens and an FL-50R flash, hand-held.Inspiration
I wanted to test my new flash, and Raisin was a handy subject. She seemed to be more worried about the collar around her neck than with me taking her photo.Editing
The only post-processing that I did on this photo was to crop out some distracting stuff from the background. In my camera bag
I always pack my Olympus E-5, and now my flash. I have a hard time choosing between my 12-60mm lens and my 50-200mm lens, so I usually pack both just in case.Feedback
Find a willing subject, and practice, practice, practice. Especially with new equipment.
