Meet Pluis. Her mother Emma died 1 week ago in my arms and we placed Emma's eggs in an incubator. Pluis is the only one who has hatched 36 hours ago. She is a little miracle:-) Lucky shot to be honest, right time, right place and sun ray just at a perfect angle.

Pluis will have a "big" swim today (aug.12th) in a small pond (one I can walk in to rescue her if needed) will take an image of it and will post it as well, thank you all for all your kind reactions and great advise from some of you how to bring her up etc. I am convinced this duckling has a chance because so many people wish her well:-)) thank you!!

to all of you who have sent me messages in relation to Pluis' well being: she is doing great! She is out in the big pond now, even during the nights, hasn't been totally accepted yet by 14 other runner ducks, but heho time will tell. She still likes to come up to me and sits on my lap nibbling away on my earrings, and fingers crossed she will be adopted into the group and the fox won't get her (safety in numbers). Many many thanks to all of you photographers with heart for wildlife clearly:-))) for all your encouraging words and advises, soooo much appreciated and it makes me feel special to be part of this viewbug community!! thank you!

She looks like she has attitude! This will make her a survivor. I used to have two Aylesbury ducks from eggs to full grown, I built them a pond with an island-house to protect them from foxes and this worked, plus I built a little drawbridge for them during the day. They followed me everywhere because I was the first thing they saw when the hatched, super pets and ice breaker. Anyway, I digress, this is a super shot and well captured, photography is all about seeing the situation and having the right right equipment at that time and for sure you succeeded here, well done, Lincoln :)
