Clarke Quay, possibly the 'party central' in the heart of the city of Singapore where you could dine by the river or even on the boats.

And especially for the adventure seekers there's the G-Max Reverse Bungy ride where they catapult you high up in the sky at a speed of 200kmh.

Not for the faint-hearted. Just don't take the ride with a full stomach or after happy hour!

Behind The Lens

Location

Singapore River at Clarke Quay

Time

It's was soon after sunset (about 8pm) when the lights from the river taxis can be seen clearly.

Lighting

I wanted to shoot the long light trails from the rivers taxis that ply along the river. So I used a long exposure to achieve the effect.

Equipment

I used a Canon 6D with 16-35mm f2.8 L lens, a Manfrotto tripod, a remote control for bulb mode

Inspiration

I like the lines/patterns & the colors from the light trails

Editing

Just some simple tweaks using Lightroom

In my camera bag

I normally take my wide angle 16-35mm lens for most landscape shots. With it I use my set of ND filters, big & mini stoppers. I also have a CPL

Feedback

If you planning a trip to Singapore, end of the year (Nov & Dec) would be a nice time to shoot the light trails as the river taxis will be decked with colorful seasonal lights. Fridays & weekends nights would have more of such river taxis plying along the river. After shooting you might like to take one such ride yourself. You can book those boats that serve food & beer too! Have fun!
