Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Pavilion in the Tamworth area, NSW

Time

It was later in the afternoon as the yr 10 school formal was about to go in for the evening.

Lighting

No flash needed, plenty of natural sun light

Equipment

Using my canon 1100D plus pop-up flash and my Tamron 70-300mm lens zoomed in all the way, I caught Chloe at mid turn.

Inspiration

I was asked to take photos of a few of my friends attending their school yr 10 formal, I'v always like photos where the model has no idea their photo is being taken, so I made that my task for this formal.

Editing

Not really being experienced with taking portraits of people I didn't really know what was expected of my editing of them. I stuck with a few basics such as sharpening eyes, removing very little blemishes and converting to B&W using Photoshop Elements 11

In my camera bag

Being my first time taking photos for someone else, I was beyond prepared! I had packet my camera of course, 18-55mm canon lens, 70-300mm Tamron lens, tripod, memory cards, cleaning gear, printed images for ideas and the list goes on

Feedback

When taking photos without the other person knowing, it is best to be further away and to zoom in, would be an idea to shoot on continuous mode to capture the right position and of course try not to look too obvious
