Location
The photo was taken on my way home from Qatar, where I worked. Being claustrophobic I have to have a window seat. I saw the clouds and the engine. I was conscious of not getting a reflection and also the window frame, the result was this amazing shot.Time
It was mid-afternoon. I saw the beauty of the clouds and the blue of the sky. I wanted the feeling of floating and I think that I achieved that. I didn't think about exposure or lens settings, I wasn't that expert. However, I do believe the shot is better than some professional shots that I have seen and I do think it deserves far greater exposure, if you will pardon the pun.Lighting
I was flying, the sky and clouds looked amazing. It wasn't just a click and point job. I waited for the fight amount of cloud and colour to contrast with the engine. The light bouncing off the engine looked right and click, there it was, my perfect shot. People have commented that it gives the impression of being in space and floating that I think is a lovely thing to say because it is what I had hoped to achieve.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Samsung Galaxy, I have never been disappointed with this camera, the colour and vibrancy is present and it takes an expert shot. A brilliant and highly recommended camera.Inspiration
The fact that I was going home after a long time away.Editing
Nothing was added or taken away.In my camera bag
I always have my Samsung in my bag in the anticipation that I will get an unusual shot. I consider myself to be an artistic photographer, I can't paint, this is my outlet. Structure and form is what I like and am moving toward. I am not an expert by any means but I do believe I have a good eye and am a little gifted.Feedback
I am a teacher by profession. I am a gifted amateur who would love to be professional. I would not presume to give others advice other than, maybe look but really look, find things that you are interested in and keep clicking. Photography is really about passion. you can have the most amazing equipment but first if you do not have the eye and the passion then all you have is very nice photos. I look, see the shot, and plan what it will look like and then click. hope that helps. Praise is another thing that beginners like encouragement and then recognition. that is why viewbug is so good because you get that opportunity.
