Behind The Lens

Location
Inside my lounge, close to the window. Cape Town, South Africa
Time
Noon, at the start of Spring.
Lighting
I wanted natural light, but as it was indoors I could shoot at noon with good light, not too sharp.
Equipment
Sony Alpha a230 with 18mm – 55mm Sony kit lens
Inspiration
I had received flowers along with an award the night before. This was very special to me and made the flowers special, so I wanted to capture something about this. Also I had just got my new camera and this was actually my first test shoot with it.
Editing
Yes, but slight. Sharpened and saturated the image a bit.
In my camera bag
When I took this photo I only had the camera. Now I only carry my Canon 60D with an 18-55mm and 70-300mm lens.
Feedback
I think it would be very easy to capture something similar. I had no special equipment, a lower end camera and really no technical know-how at the time I took this photo. Just use good natural indoor lighting and get an interesting angle and depth of focus.
