I took the photo at Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA at the Hollidazzle parade of 2011.Time
I took the photo at exactly 7:45:45 PM/ It was the time when the parade started. It was a winter chilly day, the wind was blowing so hard.Lighting
They put off some lights in the City just to high light the lights in the Hollidazzle Parade. It was arresting display of variety of holiday lights and some characters like the float of Geppetto.Equipment

The flickering variety of holiday lights they put in the float to attract the viewer. I love the overall presentation of the parade and the order. What bothered me was the too cold weather that frozen my hands during the time and i remember it was subzero degree.Editing

I had a little bad experience when I shot this photo. It was November the day after thanksgiving. I was thinking it was just okay not to bring gloves for severe winter. So, I went to the parade with just thin gloves but it was so surprising because as I stayed longer outside waiting for the parade to start and finish my hands was almost frozen already. So, learning when taking photo on November in Minnesota you need to be ready. Have all for severe winter attire especially when you are taking photos like parade where you are not the one to hold the time. Expect the unexpected and prepare for the worst. Sometimes, mono pad really works on a place full of people. You cannot bother some people unlike the Tripod. After taking photos, treat yourself to a coffee shop, it will help to warm up.
