Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in St-Augutine Florida

Time

It was in the middle of the day with harsh sunlight; not the ideal weather conditions but the moment dictated the image

Lighting

I was focused on another scene when I became aware of the interaction between the two birds; all that with a nice cloud acting as a framing element

Equipment

I was using a handheld full frame Nikon camera D3s with a 70-200 mm Nikon lens; no flash

Inspiration

It was the the interaction between the two birds that reminded me of a dance like scene

Editing

I shoot in RAW and do post processing on every image. This would include making adjustments for exposure, noise reduction, sharpening, cropping to taste...

In my camera bag

I normally travel with a variety of gear that includes Gitzo tripod with gimbal and ballhead attachments, Nikon full frame and crop body cameras (D800, D3s D4, D7100), a variety of lenses from 14 to 600 mm along with teleconverters.

Feedback

St Augustine Alligator farm has several wading bird nests that provide for such opportunities
