So gorgeous and mysterious! I love the red and how it just flows down through the scenery. Beautiful and sensual!

Location
I took this photograph in a small forest, Cork, Ireland. I've always been inspired by nature, I feel in my element when I'm out doors with a talented team who are just as happy as I am to be outside, creating.Time
This photograph was taken between 3-4 pm in the day, when the lighting was beaming though the trees perfectly. We chose this time to shoot, as the light would be at its finest for the looks I was going for.Lighting
I used natural light while taking this image. Our model safely climbed onto the rock to capture the shot. After our stylist was organising the fabrics perfectly, we waited, and waited, and waited for the perfect amount of light to peak through the leaves overhead.Equipment
I shoot with my Nikon D7100.Inspiration
After studying the fine arts I've always been greatly inspired by painters and sculptors, in this image I was inspired by Caravaggio and his use key lighting. The focus were always emphasised on his subjects and what they were doing, and anything else that had little importance to the piece, (but needed to be there) were darkened out in a beautiful velvety tones of black.Editing
I used a lot of curves adjusting and some selective colour. To create my Caravaggio inspired picture, I needed to do a lot of playing around with shadows. My work is sometimes quite dark anyway, so it wasn't long after testing here our there when I decided I was going in the right direction. This picture is also a composite. In order to fit the bottom part of the image into the scene I needed to take 5 other "Stitching" shots to add into the frame later in post. When shooting, I always shoot around the scene, incase I later decide to make the frame bigger. In my camera bag
I keep a polaroid and film camera with me, if the moment arrises when I feel like capturing something on film. My 85mm, 50mm, 24-70mm and of course my D7100. For my own personal work, which I publish online, I shoot with mostly natural light.Feedback
Have a great team by your side who are just as passionate as you are to create. Make sure everybody is on the same page and has idea on how you'd like convey the emotions in the pictures. Take some shots around the model incase you'd like to "Stitch" them in later. And be patient when editing, keep trying new curves, or watch some youtube tutorials if you're stuck, (there are plenty out there that might show you something you're looking for!)
