Behind The Lens

Location

In Berlin while taking a walk around a lake.

Time

I don´t remember the exact time of day except that it was quite bright outside.

Lighting

Aperature at f /6.3 ISO 400 Exposure 1/400

Equipment

Shoot with a canon EOS 500D with on board flash and no other equipment.

Inspiration

I found this dog watching another canine playing in the lake. I`m usually a bit carefull shoting dogs I don´t know but this guy was really frindly. Since the light conditions were favoarble for a sharp picture, I decided to up the ISO a bit to brighten up the background. The shoot was taken facing sun and lake with a on camera fash.

Editing

I raised the contrast and the brightness a bit to wash out the background and used a bleach bypass filter to increase the structures and contrast in the wet fur of the dog.

In my camera bag

I usually travel lite when going on a walk carying just the camera and a zoom lens to be prepared for any situation.

Feedback

Bring a lot of patience when shooting dogs or animals in general. Try to get a short exposure time to freeze the motion.
