Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo around the Casa Loma neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, which is named after a famous castle and is a place surrounded by ravines.

Time

This photo was taken around 10:00 AM and it was a cloudy day

Lighting

I think using 100% natural lighting is always the best for shooting nature and the cloudy day gave a soft and velvety look to this pic in particular. No shadows at all...

Equipment

I used a Canon 650D and a Macro lens, no tripod and no flash, as it was a very bright day.

Inspiration

I had just got the macro lens and was actually experimenting with it for the first time, once that I am new to photography and trying to learn everything I can . Around that area the gardens are fabulous and I thought the patterns in this particular flower would look interesting.

Editing

I have not done any post-processing in this picture.

In my camera bag

I have a Macro EF-S 60mm lens , a 50 f/1.8 mm prime lens, a 35mm Wide angle lens and a Sigma 18-250mm f3.5 lens

Feedback

Look for interesting patterns , contrasts and texture always, but sometimes monochromatic pics and soft tones make the details in the main subject to stand out.
