I took this photo on a camping trip in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. I knew there were going to be lots of opportunities for photos.Time
This was late in the afternoon, we had been swimming and taken a break. My daughter loves to pick flowers. So I knew there would be a photo op.Lighting
Fortunately it was cloudy and we had a lot of tree cover. Perfect for photos. No harsh shadows.Equipment
This was handheld with the Nikon D7100 (I think). I think I was using the 55-300. And of course the dandelion.Inspiration
I just loved her expression, with her braids. She was about to blow the dandelion and she knew I didn't want her to, at least not yet.Editing
There was a little post processing. I added some saturation and tweaked the photo to add more of a rustic look. I also changed the color of her hair ties to match her swim suite. They were a baby blue. ;-)In my camera bag
Of course the camera. 2 lenses - 55-300, 18-140. I try to remember the tripod, but usually start taking photos before I can get it out. I have just added some hand held reflectors for when I need a little extra light.Feedback
With children I snap a lot of photos, because I never know what they are going to do. Especially at events or trips. Depending on the child I can let them go and get great shot, while other I give direction. I also like the shallow depth of field to separate them from the background.
