Great photo! Wonderfully executed black/white and love the choice of helmet - could not have been more perfect.

Location
This photo was taken at a local traditional trades show, showcasing everything from blacksmiths to classic vehicles.Time
The time of day was early afternoon.Lighting
This was one of those times that I had to work with the light that was available, it was not possible to move the bike or set up artificial lighting.Equipment
I took this photo with my Canon XSi and kit lens.Inspiration
When I saw this bike, it immediately brought to mind bikes I had seen in old movies, and I felt I had to try to capture it and give it a similar look.Editing
I actually ended up doing quite a bit of post processing on this photo, mostly to eliminate all the distracting background. I was able to do a mild HDR treatment to enhance detail, and then converted it to black and white to simulate the old movie look.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Canon XSI body with my kit lens, and either my 55-200mm or an old Olympus 50mm 1.8 with extension tubes, depending on what I think I will be shooting. I usually have my sturdy Trupan tripod with me, but did not bring it with me on this occasion.Feedback
Shooting at fairs can be challenging at times, even frustrating, with people passing between you and your subject, or not having the room to get the angle you want. In this case, the camera angle and crop were a compromise due to these limitations. Patience is your best friend, and compromise your best ally.
