Behind The Lens

Location

Chicago, IL during the Chicago Air and Water Show

Time

It was early afternoon

Lighting

It was very sunny so everything was very well lit, but thus there were a lot of contrast too

Equipment

I used my first DSLR -- Nikon D60 with a 200mm lens

Inspiration

I love airplanes so I wanted to capture the beauty of these flying machines in motion

Editing

I added some dramatic effect to make the clouds of smoke pop out a bit. I also increased saturation and contrast

In my camera bag

Usually I carry my Nikon D7000 with me along with a 18-105mm, 35mm, and 55mm lenses.

Feedback

When I'm shooting moving objects I always take a ton of shots. On this particular occasion I filled a 32 Gb card solely with jpgs in a few hours. The hardest part is finding the perfect shot later among all the other similar ones.
