This beautiful, exploding corona is one of my favorite aurora shots from last winter, shot on March 17, 2013. During that amazing night I shot 2000 pictures and this is lucky number 7. The twigs on the right are from a nearby tree.

It was a cold night and my group and me have been chasing auroras for many hours. Coming to this cabin the warmth of the fire has been most welcome.
