Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in Frankfurt zoo during my recent business trip. It was a lazy Sunday and I decided to venture out to the zoo with my colleague.Time
This was shot indoors and hence the time of the day did not play any role in this particular photograph. The alligator seen in the photograph is actually a very small one kept in a glass aquarium along with 3-4 of his/her brothers/ sisters. There was a light source above the aquarium which helped in getting the shot.Lighting
Lighting is essential, but sometimes you don't have the means to get the desired light you want. So although lighting is one of the key aspects, don't let it affect you and try to use whatever limited light conditions available to you and get the best outcome possible.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 along with a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens. This was the only lens that I was carrying that day.Inspiration
As I was only carrying the 35mm lens to the zoo that day, I was pretty disappointed at the photo opportunities I was missing out on in the absence of a zoom lens. Then I decided to be positive and utilize my limited resources to the full extent. This was the shot that made my day.Editing
Not much of post processing involved in this one. Only increased a bit of sharpness and vibrance in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I have very recently moved on to using a DSLR , and I only have the Nikkor 18-55mm and the 35mm prime lens in my bag. I love to shoot street and so I always carry the 35mm with me everywhere I go.Feedback
Always try to utilize every photo opportunity you get, and don't get demotivated if the gear you carry/ conditions are not suitable for certain situations. You still have the camera with you and so you should never give up those moments. Keep clicking, and more often than less you will be pumped up by your own photographs. Cheers :-)
