This photograph is a composited of 42 separate photo's. It was taken that way on purpose. Shot with my 70-300mm telephoto lens. Each shot was taken at 70mm's. F stops were varible for each image. They were then all rendered together in Photoshop CS6. The shot is that of the Solway Coast in Dumfries & Galloway. You can blow this image up imencally. The shot was taken from an advantage point near to the village of Glencaple, Dumfries & Galloway. In the southwest of ScotlandTime
These 42 shots were shot one after each other. I started at 11:30am and was finally finished at 1:30pm, after which I edited them all and then stitched them all together. Finally finishing the whole compilation at around 4:30pm ish...... I was fortunate enough to be at College Studying For my HNC Photography, at the time this was taken.Lighting
The light is natural available light. Although it was a rather dull and cloudy day, with ocassional showers. I kind of think this works !Equipment
Camera, Nikon D200, (yes D200) Tamron 70-300mm telemacro zoom. A good fluid head Tripod. Shutter release cable. Lens Hood. Spare Batteries.Inspiration
This is a shot that I have taken a great many times before. The best result I had before with a 35mm Camera, was with my 24mm lens. However, it does not have the definition of this !Editing
Each of the 42 shots were shot in RAW, then individually edited in photoshop CS6, before the final compilation. In my camera bag
I usually carry my bag around with me everywhere! In my bag is my Nikon D200, 70-300mm Tamron, 18-55mm Nikkor lens. 50mm Nikkor f1.8 manual lens. Sekonik flashmate lightmeter, two replacement batteries for the camera. 4 spare CF cards in cardholder. Tripod/Monopod, which ever comes to hand... Card reader, lens cleaning equipment etc.Feedback
Shoot in RAW. It makes life a little bit easier. Then take your time and work methodically, from top left to bottom right. Then edit each individually, then start the compilation, and be patient. It does take some time but the results are well worth it... Have a go it's good fun and taxes your brain a bit as well.
