Hey, my old buddies and car! Well, not quite that old. Fantastic photo. Great humor.

Location
This was taken in California, Caliente Bodfish Rd. in Walker Basin. It is at the Gate of the Slim Pickens Ranch.Time
This was early afternoon on November 23,2015, My wife and I decided to take a short "190 mile" ride to get some pictures. I thought maybe it was set up for Halloween, but it is still there today. There are several other old vehicles on this ranch property as well. This is a shot that I can return to at any time and try to set and wait for the proper lighting.Lighting
Lighting was just a bright mid day shot. I don't have any fancy editors, I use mainly ViewNX2, that came with the camera. I try to keep the sun to my back and use it to highlight areas of the shot.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D5100 with a Toknia 11-16 wide angle lens, hand held, no flash.Inspiration
I am always out looking for cool things to photograph. This was one of them, Not only for the old car, but the gentleman sitting in it. While at this spot I also took some pictures of an old farm vehicle. This was just an enjoyable ride for use, which is something we seem to do a lot of.Editing
I shoot Raw, so I use ViewNX2 for processing, mainly because it came with the camera. At time if I want to add details, I will use Pic Monkey. Usually just checking the exposure, sharpness, contrast, highlights and shadows, until I am please with what I have.In my camera bag
I usually have 2 cameras, my D3100 and D5100. The 3100 I usually have the Nikon 55-300 and the 5100 the Tokina 11-16. If I know I am going to get pictures that require time exposure I have my Manfrotto 290 tripod, with remote switch. I have quite a variety of lens, but I find these 2 are my "To Go" lens.Feedback
The biggest thing on this type of picture is to actually take the time to go out and search for weird and different things to shoot. The lighting plays with you because you may not have found it at a good time of the day. So shoot raw and set your camera to get the best of what you have. Check out the background and try not to get the power lines or any other distractions. I try to use the off center pictures.
