Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Fort St. Joseph on St. Joseph Island during the summer of 2012. It was the reenactment of the war of 1812 and their were tall ships sailing off the shore of the island and firing their cannons towards the soldiers on the shore.

Time

This was taken in the later in the morning close to noon time.

Lighting

The lighting was just natural outdoor light.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my Canon Rebel T4i and a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/ 4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens.

Inspiration

I took many shots to get the firing of the cannon and was finally successful at getting the smoke just after the firing. The reenactment was a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture a moment in time from the past due to the reenactment to celebrate the anniversary of the War of 1812.

Editing

Post processing was just basic editing.

In my camera bag

I alway carry a lens for landscape and a lens for wildlife along with extra batteries and extra SD cards.
