Location
This photo was taken in the middle of a round about intersection, in the cute little town of Manitou Springs , Colorado.Time
This was taken on New Years Eve, after the wedding ceremony, mid-day. The bridal party and I had 3 hours to explore downtown Manitou Springs.Lighting
I used a simple diffused flash for this shot.Equipment
I shot this with Canon EOS 5D Mark II, equipped with a 50mm prime.Inspiration
It was a beautiful clear day. Being a winter wedding, the bride really wanted snow. Knowing this, I purchased a large bag of artificial snow from a local craft/hobby store. Each bridesmaid, and bride, was given a handful of the snow to blow in my direction. The groomsmen helped by standing just out side of the shot and tossing remaining snow at the girls.Editing
Some of the snowflakes had to be removed from the brides, and bridesmaids faces. Also, some color adjustments for skin tones. In my camera bag
Normally I carry my Canon 7D, and 6D. That day I had the 5D Mark 2 as well... I always have my Canon 85mm prime (my favorite at the moment). Additionally, I always have a few other lenses for different situations. Like my 70-200mm, 50mm prime, and my 10-22mm (another favorite). Also in the bag are a bunch of Yongnuo flashes, triggers, diffusers and snow!Feedback
My advice to achieve something similar would be to take lots of shots. Advising subjects to keeps eyes on you, and not their hand. Which is where the eyes typically go when attempting this.
