Behind The Lens

Location
In front of my house, photographing the birds from the 1st floor balcony sitting on a voltage cable.
Time
Late afternoon.
Lighting
The light at this time of the day is very nice.
Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark II on a tripod, lens was a 70-200 mm telephoto zoom lens on fast shutter speed, wide apparture, ISO 400.
Inspiration
The tree sparrows are lively birds and beautiful to watch playing and interacting with each other. I wanted them to sit in a row talking to each other but it was impossible ! They either sat too far apart or simply flew away just as I was going to take the picture ! I photogrphed them individually.
Editing
So I used photoshops cropping tool, selected the birds I liked and placed them carefully back on the empty cable I photographed before.
In my camera bag
My trusty Canon 5D Mark ii, the 100mm macro lens, the 24-105 mm zoom lens, and some filters. When I travel I always take my tripod.
Feedback
Wnen photgraphing birds one has to be patient and be still so they don't get scared. Its good to have a vision of what you expect the final picture look like. Try to tell a story with the picture to hold the viewers attention and don't take photography too serious, it should be fun I think.
