Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, a town of about 40,000 up in the Idaho panhandle, about 100 miles south of the Canadian border.

Time

It was mid-day.

Lighting

It was just natural lighting on a nice, clear day.

Equipment

I used a Sony Nex-6 with my 17-55mm lens. Handheld.

Inspiration

Downtown Coeur d'Alene is small town American with very small houses and lot and lot of big trees. It was the beginning of autumn and the trees were gorgeous. I went to the area in order to capture the beauty of the season. I walked the streets and came upon this tree. This tree was yellow rather than orange or red. It stood out as unusual on that street.

Editing

The only post-processing is the slider on iphoto. I do not use photoshop. My camera has an in-camera HDR which was used for this photo.

In my camera bag

I carry my Sony Nex-6 in a shoulder bag along with the 17-55mm, 14mm, 50-200mm, and fish-eye lenses. I carry several memory cards and batteries as well as some cleaning instruments.

Feedback

I think trees like this are probably quite common. My advice would be to get out and walk around beautiful neighbors and look UP. Get under the trees and shoot upward.
