Location
This was taken in an old cemetery in Almonte Ontario Canada on Halloween evening in 2014.Time
I rushed home from work one evening to get my gear, because the sun was setting and I was running out of time to get shots of the fall leaves that were still on the trees.Lighting
I was originally going to take pictures of old creepy gravestones because it was Halloween, but then I walked past this bench just as the leaves started rustling in the wind. It just looked like a really nice place to sit and relax, even though it was in the middle of a graveyard!Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100, handheld with a Nokkor 35mm.Inspiration
I was in the right place at the right time, just waiting for the evening light to change.Editing
To be honest with you, I really don't remember exactly what filters I used. I know I used a curves adjustment layer, a b&w layer with reduced opacity and a I messed with the channel mixers as well.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D7100 with a 35, 50, and a 17-50mm lenses and a Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
Just be patient and walk around your location if you don't find anything that jumps out at you right away. Daylight can change so fast, in minutes, something that looks bland and unappealing one moment can look dynamic and interesting with shadows and highlights the next.
