This photo was taken at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.Time
I cannot remember for certain, but I think this picture was taken around 10:00 in the morning.Lighting
I always use natural lighting for outdoor photographs. This was taken on an exceptionally clear day in July, and the shadows from the hills on the side just seemed like a pleasant accent the whole scene.Equipment
I used a hand-held digital camera (4.5-90.0 mm)Inspiration
Just the beauty of the scene. Lake Louise is fed by glaciers, which gives the water a unique color that I could not properly capture on my camera. The mountain and hills framed the lake very well, and the sky was perfect.Editing
No, I don't recall doing any post-processing on this photograph. In my camera bag
I am not a professional so I don't bother with the bag. All I take with me is my digital camera and its case.Feedback
Glacier lakes seem to have a color all of there own, you can't find it anywhere else. Lighting is anther thing to watch for. As I said, this was an exceptionally clear day, not necessarily cloud free, but you could see details clearly at a distance. Learn how to use shadows. They may be a pain sometimes, but usually you just need to try a different angle; I took multiple photos of this same scene before I got something I really liked.
