Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the grounds of the Tower of London, stood amongst the Poppies during the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2014

Time

Arriving at the Tower just before lunchtime I was fortunate to be there at the exact same time as all 3 Armed Services were there.

Lighting

Not really much to say about the lighting. It was a clear sunny day.

Equipment

Believe it or not I used my iPhone! I was in uniform taking part in the Poppy Appeal so I was unable to carry a camera.

Inspiration

As I was in central London taking part in the Poppy Appeal and in my RAF uniform, visiting the Tower while the poppies were on display was a once in a lifetime opportunity. On arrival I couldn't believe my luck when all 3 Armed Services were represented there, including Johnson Beharry VC. It was the perfect moment to take a picture that will never be repeated so, armed with my iPhone, I found a spot and took the picture.

Editing

No post-processing whatsoever. It is what it is.

In my camera bag

Usually, along with my Canon EOS750 I have an 18-55mm. 50-250mm and 105mm macro.

Feedback

A perfect example of right place right time. Always have a camera of sorts to hand, even if it is only your phone.
