Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was Taken at Hound Tor, on Dartmoor National Park in Devon, one of my Favourite Places, I am a self taught Photographer, and am always trying to better every Photograph i take.

Time

I love this image, I had a Afternoon off from Work especially to go take advantage of the Sun, i started back to the car after 3 hrs, and the sun started setting, and this was such a great shot with the Tor to my Right, i couldn't resist, a HDR image.

Lighting

I knew i wanted image to show the Lovely colours between the sky and the Rocks of the Tor and the surrounding Area.

Equipment

I use a Panasonic Lumix GX7, Lens 7-14mm lens, 1/80 sec; f/11; ISO 200 - 5 exposure for HDR.

Inspiration

Hound Tor is a fantastic place to take Photographs, inspiration comes from all round this area.

Editing

I had taken 5 x images in Bracketing Mode in Raw, I then used Photomatix to combine the 5 images, then used Photoshop to add the finishing touches..

In my camera bag

I bag consists usually of my Panasonic Lumix GX7 - Panasonic 7-14mm Wide Angle lens - Panasonic 20mm prime sense - panasonic 14-42mm - Panasonic 45-150mm Olympus 60mm Macro Lense and last but not least my 100 -300mm lens, i always carry 4 batteries just in case, Clothes, Filters and a Range of SD Cards 8GB & 16 GB.

Feedback

If venturing onto Dartmoor, always be pre-paired with Raincoats for you and the Camera, i have been there when it has Rained - Snowed - Been Sunny all in a space of a Hour. Although very popular with people you can become isolated very Quickly if the fog & mist come down too, that is the beauty of the Moors you never know what to expect, With Amazing sunrises to Sunsets you are never disappointed.
