Location
This photo was taken in a previously abandoned building near Downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It used to be a Clothing factory. To my delight, this building has been renovated and turned into a school!Time
It was taken early in the evening... I was not expecting to have access to the inside of the building: I was just going to photograph the outside but saw an opening on one of the walls and decided to explore... I'm glad I did as it provided me several opportunities for some good shots.Lighting
All the lighting was natural. On this specific shot, one of the glass panes was tinted which provided a splash of green to an otherwise red setting.Equipment
I shot this with a Sony A300 and a tripod. Sadly, it was a while ago and I can't remember the rest of the settings.Inspiration
I absolutely love to have texture in my photos. I had always wanted to photograph the inside of this building and when the opportunity presented itself, I did not hesitate to take it. The colors and the feel of this hallway was the thing that caught my attention. Looking at the final result, I am glad I took the shot.Editing
This was a Tonemaped image. For it, I used Photomatix, Photoshop CS6 and Nik software for the final touches. Not much was done other than some contrast and color adjustments. In my camera bag
Currently, I have my Fujifilm x-t1 with a 50mm f2.0 lens. I don't carry much else other than the tripod.Feedback
Be patient and take a good look at what is in front of you. Always consider what you might be doing in post-processing and mind your shadows and highlights. If the texture is your thing, try to get the best contrast in your image as possible. If you are aiming for a tone mapped image, a tripod is a must
