Just in case anyone was wondering because when you reply to the email it doesn't show up here. It was taken with the 70-300vr and yes I'm almost certain I used a tripod. This pic was taken about 4 years ago. I'd say I was around 10 to 15 yards from the cooperative Red Tail!
